Mr. Tomas Bittar Navarro was appointed as a Consul General of the Republic of Paraguay in January of 2025. Prior to his appointment as Consul General, in 2018 until in 2023 was elected as a Senator Parlasuriano of MERCOSUR (Headquarters in Montevideo, Uruguay), in 2003 to 2007 was President of the National Directorate of Civil Aeronautics, in 1993 - 1995 was Vice Minister of the Interior in charge for the security, political affairs, population and migration in Paraguay, period 1989-1990 was Counselor at Yacyreta Binational Entity (hydroelectric).

He graduated with a law degree from the National University of Asuncion in 1991. He also has his own law firm, Bittar & Associates.

The Consul General Bittar Navarro is married to Maria Jose Arrellaga de Bittar and is the father of four children
